Common questions

Frequently asked

How long does exterior paint typically last?

On the Gulf Coast, a properly prepped exterior repaint generally holds up 7–10 years. Sun exposure, surface type and how well the previous coat was prepped all move that number. South- and west-facing walls almost always fade first.

Why does surface prep matter so much before painting?

Paint doesn't stick to dirt, chalk, mildew or loose paint — it sticks to a clean, sound surface. Prep is the difference between a finish that lasts a decade and one that peels in two years. It's the least visible part of the job and the most important.

Should I pressure wash before I paint?

Almost always, yes. Washing removes the chalky oxidized layer, mildew and dust that would otherwise sit between the old surface and the new coating. We include washing on exterior paint jobs and can bundle a full property wash at the same time.

How long does a typical interior painting job take?

A single room is usually one day. An average three-bedroom interior — walls, ceilings and trim — typically runs three to five working days depending on prep, color changes and how much furniture has to be moved.
